Full Description

Fuel Valve for pre-war Aeroncas.

These were used on the C-3, K, KCA and all pre-war Chiefs. In the 1930s the Army-Navy standards including fuel valves. The Aeronca K fuel installation drawing 4-6 identifies the fuel valve as an AN765-1. Sometime after 1937 the Army-Navy dropped AN765 in favor of industry standard fuel valves, such as Imperial 51-E and 110B.

The fuel installation for the KCA and pre-war Chiefs are nearly identical to the K, but the part number of the fuel valve changed to Imperial 51-e and then 110B. These are all the same valves.

This fuel valve is attached directly to the bottom of the fuel tank along with filter screen, 1-518. The handle stem is removed from the stock fuel valve and Aeronca shut off handle 1-390 is attached.

As you can see from the photo, these fuel valves appear to be in perfect condition. The museum has cleaned and lubricated them with United EZ Turn fuel valve lubricant.
